An explosion rocked a military barracks in Nigeria's northern city Kaduna on Tuesday, an emergency agency and witnesses said, the latest in a string of blasts in the north of Africa's most populous nation.
"NEMA rescue team alerted to explosion at military formations in Kaduna," the National Emergency Management Agency said in a brief statement. "Yet to confirm the nature of explosion or casualties."
Radical Islamist sect Boko Haram has killed hundreds this year in bomb and gun attacks in northern Nigeria. The group wants sharia law more widely applied.
