The Staff of Oceanic Bank today shut down the main servers and data centres that control the bank’s activities and operations.
This is following the news that Oceanic Bank, a subsidiary of Ecobank is laying off about 1,250 staff in Nigeria.

Apparently, the main servers located at the bank’s former Ozumba Mbadiwe headquartres on Victoria Island controls the bank’s activities and operations nation-wide.
As a result, all banking transactions may be unavailable today, including ATM machines and online banking activities, until the issue is resolved.
A source informs us that staff of the bank were seen protesting in front of the bank’s former head office over the lay-offs.
