Democratic Republic of Congo's President Joseph Kabila announced on Wednesday that authorities would arrest serving army general Bosco Ntaganda, wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes committed during the 1998-2003 conflict.

"I want to arrest Bosco Ntaganda because the whole population wants peace," Kabila told an event during a trip to eastern Congo, where troops loyal to Bosco have been blamed for persistent unrest. Bosco's exact whereabouts in the region remain unclear.
